ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION POLICY

 

This policy regards the administration of medication to the club's members whilst they are under the responsibility of BATH JUNIOR GATEWAY CLUB.

 

All members' parents/guardians will be required to complete a club health form on which all health issues, allergies etc and required medication and administration instructions, if any, will be listed. Contact numbers for parent/guardian and members doctor are also required.

 

The club will obtain extra written permission from all members' parents/guardians as to the administration of non prescriptive medication such as paracetamol/calpol. This will include the application of sun cream. (relevant to holidays and day trips only)

 

Additional written permission will be required for the administration of prescriptive medication with full written instructions and confirmed by signature of members own Doctor.

 

All medication will only be administered by the club's designated and competent staff.

 

There will always be two competent staff present and all actions will be recorded and double signed giving a clear indication of administrator and witness, child's name, date, time, medication and dosage.

 

All medication must be in its original packaging, clearly stating the persons name, name of medication, dosage amount and when required.

 

If not a scheduled medication administration then record the same as above but symptoms and recovery details must also be included.

 

For club holidays all written consent will be updated to the day of departure and all information will be carded in a secure place. All medication to cover the time away will be signed for and carried in a locked medical box.
